![]() ![]() ![]() We are home to 58 inter/nationally affiliated or local Greek-letter organizations, which collectively constitute the largest membership-based and multi-faceted community on campus. ![]() Our membership is filled with college women, regardless of religion, who honor our values and respect our heritage. The university also has six Multicultural Greek Council organizations (MGC): Lambda Theta Alpha, Sigma Lambda Gamma, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Omega Delta Phi. ABOUT US Aggie Greeks & Values Based Leadership Fraternities and sororities are a fundamental part of Texas A&M University. While we honor our roots, we are not a religious sorority by any means. Throughout the past century, Alpha Epsilon Phi has built upon the foundation set by our seven Jewish founders. AEPhi welcomes hundreds of new members each year with open arms and seeks not only to live up to the ideals and goals of its original founders, but also to exceed them. Phi Beta Kappa Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa is America’s oldest academic honor society, as well as one of the most prestigious honor societies. The dream that was born in a dorm room at Barnard College in 1909 continues to succeed, prosper and thrive on over 50 college and university campuses nationwide. "I sometimes think that some of those ties were more necessary to Helen than to the others in this group because Helen had no mother and no sisters or brothers, and to her a group of adopted sisters was more of a need and had more significance." "It was her idea and her persistence more than anything else that brought Alpha Epsilon Phi into existence," one founder wrote. Their goal was to foster lifelong friendship and sisterhood, academics, social involvement and community service while providing a home away from home for their members. Note, the term "colony" was changed to "provisional chapter" at the 2016 Grand Chapter.Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority was founded by seven Jewish women, Helen Phillips, Ida Beck, Rose Gerstein, Augustina "Tina" Hess, Lee Reiss, Rose Salmowitz and Stella Strauss, at Barnard College in New York City on October 24, 1909. Where no predecessor local is named it may be understood the group came from a colony (or, from 2016 a provisional chapter). The dates of any predecessor local organization(s) are provided in reference notes. Schools that have closed also shown in italics. Inactive chapters are indicated in italic. The mission of Sigma Alpha Epsilon is to promote the highest standards of friendship, scholarship and service for our members based upon the ideals set forth by our Founders and as specifically enunciated in The True Gentleman. Multiple chapters came from several ΑΣΦ merger partners. This is a list of chapters and colonies of the North American college fraternity Phi Gamma Delta. Active chapters and provisional chapters noted in bold, inactive chapters noted in italics. In the case of full merger partners, these are ordered by date of entry into ΑΣΦ, but their chartering dates reflect the dates of their original charter into their earlier national bodies.
